You are standing in front of a flight of stairs. Where do they lead?
I was standing in front of a flight of stairs drenched in complete darkness. I don't know where they lead, all I know is that I can't go back to where I was. Life back there was just too much, too many want me dead for reasons beyond my control. I've been running for so long, tranquility no longer has any meaning for me.
The Bishop says if I do this, if I climb these dark stairs, I'll find the peace I've been seeking, the peace I've been running to that has eluded me all these years. I don't know if I can trust The Bishop. Hell, I don't know if I can trust anyone. But, really, the worst that could happen is that I find death, which has been chasing me with the same desperation with which I've been chasing peace.

PS. The book I'm using is called, "500 Five-Minute Writing Exercises." I wrote it because I needed one like it. If you would like a copy, you can go HERE. You can also
